Our Story

A story of love, courage & one amazing girl

Kori's Behavioral Center is not just a business name — it's a story of love, heartbreak, courage, strength, and the unconditional love of a mother that would triumph against all odds.

Our company was founded by Sean Khodabakshian, and Kori is the name of his niece. Anyone who has met Kori knows it's virtually impossible not to fall in love with her. She is beautiful, cheerful, loving, playful, and… she has Down syndrome.

After the heartbreaking loss of their second child, Kali, Sean's brother and his wife received hopeful news: they were expecting again. They learned during the pregnancy that Kori would be born beautifully unique and differently abled — and they committed to doing whatever it takes to give her the best life possible.

But our story doesn't end with Kori. At the center of it all is an unseen hero: Kori's exceptional caretaker and loving mom, Christina. She is the inspiration behind our groundbreaking hybrid agency.

While Sean was impressed with the tools available to help Kori, he couldn't help noticing the lack of support for Christina. She was overwhelmed, with little time for herself — let alone her health and fitness. Being a professional trainer himself, Sean asked the big "what if": what if one place provided therapy for children with special needs and care for the parents who need a little time for themselves?

Hence, the birth of Kori's Behavioral Center, Inc. — a unique combination of an ABA therapy agency for children with behavioral health challenges and a fitness center for those children and their parents who aspire to live fit, healthy lives while caring for their loved ones.

Audrey RonquilloM.A., BCBA

Ms. Ronquillo has provided ABA treatment since 2016, holding roles from Registered Behavior Technician and Lead Trainer to Behavior Consultant, Behavior Analyst, and Clinical Director. Her experience spans 1:1 ABA treatment for individuals with autism and other intellectual disabilities, training staff and parents on skill acquisition and behavior intervention plans, conducting functional assessments (VB-MAPP, ABLLS), and designing programming across home, school, and center-based environments.

She received her Master of Arts in Professional Behavior Analysis from the Florida Institute of Technology and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in 2019. She also holds a B.A. in Business Economics from UC Irvine and a Personal Trainer certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine — using her NASM-CPT training to promote health and fitness for individuals with autism, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy.

We accept most insurance, including Aetna, Anthem, Beacon, Blue Shield, Blue Cross, Cigna, HealthNet, Humana, Magellan, MHN, and medical insurance. We do not accept LA Care or Optum.
We serve ages 2–21 with insurance and accept self-pay (cash) patients of any age. Contact us to discuss services and your insurance coverage or self-pay options.
Yes! Telehealth sessions can be held via Zoom, Skype, FaceTime, WhatsApp, and more. A supervisor will make sure you and your child are comfortable before you begin.
