Kori’s Behavioral Center

About Us

Driven by our own family’s story of raising a child with special needs, we are committed to providing unsurpassed ABA Services at our behavioral center in California.

Our Story

Kori’s Behavioral Center is not just a business name, it’s a story. It’s a story of love, heartbreak, courage, strength, and the unconditional love of a mother that would triumph against all odds.

Our company was founded by Sean Khodabakshian and Kori is the name of his niece. Anyone who has met Kori knows that it is virtually impossible not to fall in love with her. She is beautiful, cheerful, loving, playful, and… she has down syndrome.

When Sean received the news that his brother and his wife had lost their second child, Kali, to crib death they were devastated. Shortly thereafter however, good news followed. Sean’s brother notified him that he and his wife were expecting another child. To their surprise, that child, Kori, would be beautifully unique and differently abled.

ABA for child with down syndrome

Kori’s parents knew during the pregnancy that Kori would be born with down syndrome. Regardless, they refused to abort the child and committed to doing whatever it takes to give Kori the best life possible. While we understand the challenges of raising a child with special needs, all of us who have been blessed by having Kori in our lives are glad that her parents chose to raise her.

Today, Kori is doing excellent and making a lasting impression on everyone because her parents put her in therapy very early on. However, our story doesn’t end with Kori. At the center of it all, there is an unseen hero whom we can’t fail to mention. That hero is Kori’s exceptional caretaker and loving mom, Christina! In fact, she is the inspiration behind our ground-breaking hybrid agency.

While Sean was impressed with the tools and resources available to help Kori, he could not help but notice that there was a lack of support for Christina. She was overwhelmed by the challenges of raising a child with special needs and had very little time for herself, not to mention her health and fitness. This was the moment that the big “what if” question popped into Sean’s head. Being a professional trainer himself, he asked, what if there was a special type of service that provided therapy for children with special needs and parents who simply need a little time to care for themselves? Hence, the birth of Kori’s Behavioral Center, Inc.. A company dedicated to healthy living for children and parents alike. Our center is a unique combination of an ABA Therapy Agency for children with behavioral health challenges and a Fitness Center for those children, and their parents, who aspire to live a fit and healthy life while caring for their loved one.
